Dear fellow
Alumni,
It is my honour to be able to serve you as your President for this term. For those who are new to British Columbia, I welcome you to our midst, and look forward to your enthusiastic participation in our various functions. The Board of Directors and I promise to do our best to forge a tighter bond and friendship among our alumni in B.C. Over the years, your alumni association has acted quite effectively as a platform and conduit for old schoolmates to meet, socialize and reminisce, and to a lesser extent, as liaison with our mother school, SPCC and other alumni association chapters.
In September 2002, St. Paul's Co-educational College has become a Direct Subsidy School. This will not only give them a lot more freedom in the choice of students, but also the independence to set up an even better curriculum. I hope you will all join me to wish them a very bright and successful future. Going forward, I would like to significantly improve our ties with our Alma Mater through more frequent and better communication. I would be pleased to consider helping them fundraise for worthwhile special projects from time to time.
We will need all the support we can get in order to achieve our goals. Although our records indicate that some 200+ members are currently or previously registered with the SPCCAA-BC Chapter, only 73 members are listed as "active" at the moment. If you have become inactive for whatever reasons, I urge you to rejoin us again, or, simply come forward and let us know of your presence. On the other hand, if you should know of anybody from SPCC who is not yet a member, please invite him/her to join us. The keen support and concern from each of you are crucial to the healthy growth of your alumni association. Let's all work together to keep the spirit of St. Paul's alive and well !
In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a most successful, harmonious and prosperous year !
Yours
sincerely,
Ron Lee (1989) St. Paul's Co-educational College Alumni
